Default need more info on this game

My wife and I are currently playing WoW.
I like it very much except the tuesday down time.
I wanted to d/l the movies that I see here,but they dont d/l .
I get a error stating the server sent extended info.

If the web site does not work and I can not even get the movies to d/l , then I really wonder what else might not work in the game, because a web page with an avi file to d/l is extremly easy to do and if they cant keep it up how good is thier service in other respects??? All I can compare it to is the web site, which is buggy.

Are there any links that work that have movies that show the gameplay?
Dont come back with " your computer has a problem" , my computer is fine.

Would like to give GW a try , but 50 bucks is a lot not to get back.
Picture on inside of box looks good though. But all games got nice artwork on the box.

Is there an auction house or equivalent in GW?
Not sure what is the goals of GW, I thought I read it is not quest driven.
I think a lot of the quest in WoW are just busy work.

any links to movies would be appreciated.
is there any demo available?

I got Kingdom of Ascalon Preview Movie
to d/l..
It start with a waterfall sceen followed by a shot of a hallwway, then it freezes while the music plays ,,

If any developers read this you should think about making those links work.
When people come to check out your product and your web site and it contents dont work , it will make them wonder what else might be wrong with your product.

Well i also play WoW with my husband i have not tried to download the movies but imho i like the gameplay alot and you will never have to group with stupid ppl lol =) you have the choice to recruit henchmen to take the spots your toons need. but i have not really had any problems with the game being buggy or laggy yet. i think its worth it though to at least try. you never have to pay a online fee. also its a nice break from the drama of WoW. although WoW is still my favorite game this one is almost right up there with it.

Check Gamespot.com as they have all of the latest demos. They allow downloading for offline viewing if you sign up for a free account.

I've not had any problems or needed support, but have read a few threads in the Tech forum from those who have and not been too happy with their experience. Of course, those who have a good experience rarely post.

Based on the comments I've read from WoW veterans, if you felt that a lot was just busy work then you'll probably appreciate GW's streamlined approach. There is a lot of tedious solo questing in the early PvE stages, as the entire pre-searing stage is meant to be a tutorial for getting up to speed with all the features and gameplay dynamics. The post-searing world is where the meat of the game lies, and is reportedly around 10x the size or the pre-searing world... which is pretty big.

GW has a heavy PvP focus with design elements in that direction, though the PvE adventure is a lot of fun and about 90% of the entire gameworld. If you and your wife like to adventure together, then it would probably be a very enjoyable experience.

I'd recommend reading through some online reviews, user reviews, and many of the articles and new player FAQs on the site here. Here are some good links...

Hi.

Before i purchased this game, i checked out GuildWars.com. It had some very useful information there and the movies seemed to work fine for me.
I also checked out alot of the posts on this forum which i found very helpful.

Guild Wars is a very fun, awesome and well thought out game. PvP is very balanced too and you only can fight in Areans against other Guilds. Or, you can just enter an Arena and join someone else. Theres also different types of PvP you can participate in. You can have 4 to 8 in a PvP group. The combat mechanics are similar to WoW with the wind up/down timers on your moves.
This game is also easily solo-able. You can invite NPC Henchman into your group for quests. The AI on this game is the best i have ever seen.
For me, its more enjoyable to quest with other guild friends as i just like to chat, lol.
Now to lvl in game, the best way is to do quests for the XP. Some of the quests you can do progress the story of the game which is great as you get the feel that your actualy there. You can still form up a group of friends and go hunt in places but you have to fight equal, higher or maybe 2-3 lvl lower mobs for any xp. When you do your quests, only the players/NPC's in yoru group will be on the map so you dont have to worry about kill/looot stealing. You cna interact with all the online players at cities/towns/pvp arenas.
The maximum lvl you can reach is lvl 20.
Theres a good mix of profession you can choose and combine. Your action tool bar only has 8 slots for specials but you have alot to choose from as you unlock/buy them through the game.
The game world map is big after the Searing. I have probably put 100hrs into the game and im only sitting at lvl 13, but i explore every detail i see. I have probably seen about 15% of the total map too.
Theres plenty to do on the game which will keep you fixed for a long time.
There is no auction house like on WOW or Bazaars/Player vendors on SWG. People just offer items via chat or in trade chat. Most of the vendors on game are NPC vendors. Theres also trade forums too.
With all online games, theres always lag but since playing the game at launch, i have hardly had any. The way they work the servers is great.

As for the graphics, they are breath-taking. There the best i have ever seen in any game period. The music is very good and the sound effects are also good.

Since i have played this game, i havent touched WoW at all and plan to cancel my WoW account. I like this game ALOT better than WoW and another bonus is the no monthly online fee.
I also have accounts on SWG which again i dont use because of this game. Also, SOE decided to mess with the combat system in SWG and now, SWG is a WoW/EQ2 rip off. Anyhow...lol

1 word to sum up this game and thats AWESOME.

Is this what you meant by an auction house?...

GuildWars Trading Post

And fwiw, I'd visited the GW website several times and never had a problem downloading the movies. Not saying the problem isn't real, as they could be having some server issues, but I've never experienced the problems you describe at their homepage. I've also yet to experience one disconnect or downtime while ingame itself.

Sounds good, I will give it a try. Thats a lot of replies in s short amount of time. I went to photic.com ,(could be wrong on spelling that link)

It had 2 comics under TOONS that poked fun at WoW.
I just about spit out my pepsi when I read the one about the guy waiting on the dock.

Tell the developers they owe you a free month for convincing me to buy it.

Oh , yeah , thats right , no monthly fee , heh he
